Unique Towra Point

Gateway Proposal

NPWS is currently developing a proposal to construct a major environmental education facility at the entrance to the Kurnell Peninsula. The concept includes a floating boardwalk, a teaching, conference and interpretation centre, and an open-air theatre.
Looking into Towra Wetlands, 1999.
The proposal is in conjunction with Sutherland Shire Tourism Association and is centred on a former sandmining site that is now a constructed wetland. The facility will allow visitors to enjoy a wetland experience without disturbing the conservation values of the Nature Reserve.
